Data Protection Policy

AJA Property complies fully with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), which came into effect on 2 January 2013. The PDPA is part of the government’s efforts to establish a high standard of data protection, ensuring the responsible collection, use, and sharing of personal data among organisations in Singapore.

What is Personal Data?

Personal data refers to any information, whether true or not, that identifies an individual. This may be on its own, or together with other information that an organisation holds or is likely to have access to. In Singapore, such information is protected under the PDPA.

What is the PDPA?

The PDPA is Singapore’s data protection law, which sets out rules on how organisations may collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data. It recognises two important aspects:

  • The rights of individuals to protect, access, and correct their personal data.

  • The need for organisations to use personal data for legitimate and reasonable purposes.

The Act also introduced the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry, allowing individuals to register their Singapore telephone numbers to opt out of marketing calls, SMS/MMS messages, and faxes from organisations.
